This will be the last time you see him

Moving forward in life isn't an option for some as time passed by these two kids began to grow up. One bad dream after another stood out in the young mans mind. He found himself holding on to old pictures and small things that might mean nothing to anyone else. After years of being in church with his nanny and seeing his grandpa retire from his job.
He fell asleep one night and dreamt of his parents. Oh they were happy and loved to travel, him and sis were stuck at home. His dreams began to reflect a different time in his life when the end was near. When the pain of abandonment first reared its ugly head he was just a boy.
Hey kid, " Dad and I are going on a trip out West to see your family. We have decided to leave tomorrow, your uncle has to go with us, he wants to leave again." Yeah, it's weird having an uncle that won't settle down. He is always ready to go have fun. On the way to party somewhere. "Well, I would really like to go with you, summer vacation is about to start, Mom. I can't make any promises I will talk to Dad tonight and we will tell you in the morning. As he awoke and went to the kitchen there was a note on the table that read.
Hey, son we love you. I know we talked last nite about the trip we
were taking. Dad and I just want to drop your uncle off , see your family in
California and get home to you for your summer vacation. We have already
left. He always likes getting up so early to travel. We love you son. Be good
and listen to your Nanny and Pa for a few days. Love, Momma

They left him behind again. Why? Why leave so fast with out him. Or, skip out before morning.
Extremely upset, he sat on the stairs of Nanny and Pa's house crying. Feeling so resentful to the age that he was and feeling abandoned, left behind. Hearing the sobs of his grandson, Pa knew what to do and he would have to take action quickly. " Hey boy, I needed your help today, we are working on your cousins rifle in the basement and then we are gonna take it out to shoot."  Just hearing his cousins name was enough to lift his spirits.
After getting outside to the shooting range his pa asked him if he thought he would want to shoot a gun. Me? Of course I do. Well here we have b.b. gun to start with and when you get to be your cousins age you'll get one just like this. He whooshed the cover away and there it was a rifle made for hunting wild game. Pa, if get me a gun like that I would be so happy. " I know you would young man." That's why I'm telling you now.
It was such a good day that day, nearing the end of the school year and having the right to brag about being out shooting with with family was something that this young man happy. His cousin and him stacked up bottles and cans a big targets far away and he watched his cousin take aim with his gun and hit all the targets in front of him. His cousin and him been best of friends he always looked up to him a little older and a little wiser.
They finished up that day a bit early before the dark and cold hit them. Pa had been sneezing and taking extra trips to the restroom. I think I'm gonna be sick in bed and have to sleep off a cold or something. This wasn't like my pa, and my cousin even noticed he was feeling weak.
A couple of days after being out hiking in the woods to the firing range, Pa was in bed sleeping.
He was a diabetic, plaged by problems with balancing his sugar he couldn't hold anything down and became very ill. Sis had called and asked for help with a project at her house, a collapsed water tank had stopped her from having drainage to her utilities and things were getting stinky at her house.
I really need some help digging out this old pipe bro can you get your cousin and come over and help me with this mess.
He was at the house in no time, lets just get it done if we can. She should probably call some professionals with heavy machinery to do the work. We had no experience in this field of septic service. But, we arrived and started digging up the ground around the area. Sis come out of the house and was sitting there in a chair, basically telling us Thankyou for a job well done. When out of the blue she mentioned our Pa being sick for a few a days or he would have been there to help. Our cousin didn't know Pa was any sicker nor did I, we were the last to see him. As we informed her it was just a cold the next Erie words were uttered from her mouth, like slow motion, these words really stuck out and rung in my head. "Your going to want to see him at the hospital, this will be the last time you see him." My cousin was sharp about that statement he just heard and immediately followed it with a retort. "How would you know it will be the last time he is alive? Oh I don't know as her eyes rolled around loosely. No, you just stated that like you knew it for a fact. You did, sis, that's scary. We were just with him and it was just a cold. You been bring him drinks or something. Sole help me God, if hurt our grand father and dies, I'm telling everyone what you just said. Go ahead, I didn't do anything wrong.
We just didn't feel like we could work anymore that day. My cousin immediately called family and found out the truth, Pa was in the hospital, unresponsive.
